Installation: table showcases with artist books, C-prints, work on paper
Die in der Bibliothek des Fotohofs ausgestellten Fanzines (1997-2015) von Sigrid Kurz sind im Kontext ihrer Fotoarbeiten entstandene, in kleinen Auflagen kopierte Hefte mit dem Titel ISSUES. Ähnlich einem Skript sind unterschiedliche Foto- und Textsequenzen in Beziehung gesetzt. Man findet Bezüge zum Film, zum Ausstellungsraum, zu Medien, die mit unterschiedliche Fragen zu ‚Handlungsraum’ und Interviews ergänzt sind.
Neben den ISSUE-Heften in den Tischvitrinen, sind vier großformatige Arbeiten des ersten und des zuletzt erschienenen Heftes ausgestellt. Die Filmnotiz Network der ersten Ausgabe (ISSUE no.1), beschreibt unterschiedliche Lichteinstellungen in Sidney Lumet’s gleichnamigen Film. Es ist eines von sechs Einzelblättern, die zusammen die Struktur einer ‚Zeitschrift‘ und gleichzeitig den Beginn der Heftserie bilden. Aus der zuletzt erschienenen Ausgabe (ISSUE no.16) werden drei Fotoarbeiten aus der Serie Experimental Sets gezeigt.
The Fanzines (1997-2015), exhibited in the Fotohof library, are booklets with the title ISSUES that were produced by Sigrid Kurz in the context of her photographic work and then copied and published in small editions. Various photo and text sequences are related to each other in a way that resembles a script. One finds references to film, to the exhibition space and to media which are supplemented with different questions about “area of action” and interviews.
In addition to the ISSUE booklets in the table showcases, four large format work reproduced in the first and the last booklet are on display. The Filmnotiz Network (Film Note Network), taken from the first issue (ISSUE no.1) describes different light settings in Sidney Lumet’s eponymous film. It is one of six individual sheets that together form the structure of a magazine and at the same time form the beginning of the series. The Fotohof exhibition featured three photographic works from the Experimental Sets, which were taken from the most recently published issue (ISSUE no.16).
