PLATEFORME

2017 – 2019

Series of C-prints, 45 x 60 cm each

The Centre Pompidou in Paris is the focus of the plateforme photo project. Planned as a visionary art and culture center by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers in 1971-1977, its open spatial structure creates a forum where, in addition to interdisciplinary exhibitions and performances, an active exchange with the public can also take place. Inspired by Cedric Price’s “Fun Palace” and Archigrams’s “Bournemouth Steps”, the pioneering architecture with its flexible, modular design was called the “Centre of Information” by the architects. The forum, the entrance hall of the Centre Pompidou can be accessed via the piazza. All kinds of activities and information for visitors can be found in the large multifunctional hall. Illuminated letters in different colors floating from the ceiling provide orientation.
The plateforme photo project uses neon letters and the various furnishing elements to address the interface between information, communication, exchange, and their spatial interlacing.
